You know everytime we take a trip to Mexico it is a new and exciting adventure. Each trip is different because of the different people going and different personalities, but I don't recall ever having a "bad" trip. Some of them have been more emotional then others, but they have all been very rewarding. I can recall several specific incidences of each trip that stick out in my mind and make me smile. We have been very blessed and I am so thankful that God brought us here to Kentucky Christian University where we have met some wonderful people. If it not for Bill Leamon and Anita Pacheco, we would not be involved in mission work. It is because they first took us and introduced us to a world outside our own, that we have come to love the work and the people along the Mexican border. They have become family to us.
We just got completed 2 trips, one in March to Eagle Pass and one in June to Acuna, Mexico. We worked with the Loma Bonita Church of Christ in Eagle Pass, Texas and put ceramic tile in their sanctuary. We had a wonderful time meeting new people and making new friends. In June we traveled to Acuna, Mexico and worked putting ceramic tile in 2 classrooms on the downtown Church and did a 3 day VBS downtown and a 2 day VBS at Fundadores. We had 3 new people on that trip and we enjoyed working with them and seeing them interact and fall in love with the people there.
We are excited and looking forward to more trips, more stories, more friends and new adventures to the "Borders and Beyond."
Our next scheduled trip will be in December 2008. We will be working at the Fundadores Church of Christ building a porch on the back of their very small building so they can meet and have Church outside out of the sun.
Interested in going, contact us.
